The Club Cubesat SUPAERO is organizing, in cooperation with theAssociation, a Round Table on Manned Spaceflight on October 8 at 6pm, in theISAE-SUPAERO Amphitheatre 2! Discussions will focus on two major themes: low-Earth orbit (ISS succession, private stations, etc.) and exploration (return to the Moon programs, long-term exploration prospects, etc.).
This event will bring together top-quality speakers who will contribute their expertise on the various exciting aspects of manned space flight.
- Stéphanie Lizy-Destrez is a professor at ISAE-SUPAERO, where she heads the Human Spaceflight module and the SEEDS certificate on space exploration. Co-founder and CTO of Spaceflight Institute, she conducts research into human performance on missions, from confinement to isolation. She is involved in several space experiments (AIM on ISS & SpaceRider, BRAIM with IIST) and supervises doctoral work on astronaut medical training.
- Peter Weiss is founder and CEO of Spartan Space, a Septèmes-les-Vallons-based start-up dedicated to habitat systems for extreme environments (space, submarine, polar). The company is developing the EUROHAB concept, an inflatable lunar habitat, as well as innovative projects for survival in space and underwater environments. Peter's goal is for the first house on the Moon to be European.
- ESA - Christophe Lasseur was project manager for the MELiSSA Space Research Program, the European project for a long-term presence in space. From 1998, he was in charge of support-life activities at theEuropean Space Agency (ESA), and from 2000 to 2012, he was chairman of the IALSWG working group harmonizing support-life research between space agencies (e.g. NASA: National Aeronautics and Space Administration, JAXA: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, CSA, RSA, ESA). From 2005 to 2024, he was a member of the International Space Station medical panel. He was a certified instructor for European astronauts until 2015.
- Lionel Suchet is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ingénieur Général de l'Armement, and has been Deputy Director General of CNES since August 28, 2017. He has functional authority over all CNES activities.
