Conference: Towards sustainable aviation?

Thursday, May 19 // Médiathèque José Cabanis, Toulouse

On May 19, the Académie de l'Air et de l'Espace (AAE), ENAC, ISAE-SUPAERO, ENAC Alumni and ISAE-SUPAERO ENSICA Alumni will be holding a special event in the large auditorium of the Médiathè Cité.ENAC Alumni and ISAE-SUPAERO ENSICA Alumni organize, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, in the large auditorium of the Médiathèque José Cabanis in TOULOUSE, a conference open to the public, to discuss the concrete issues involved in decarbonizing air transport.
An event dedicated to the future of air transport in the face of climate change

Hosted by Gil Roy, editor-in-chief of Aerobuzz, this conference will present the key messages of the "Aviation and Climate" Reference Framework established by 5 researchers and the Head of Sustainable Development at ISAE-SUPAERO to enable the development of informed opinions on the following questions:
What are the CO2 and non-CO2 effects of aviation on the climate? What correlation is there between air traffic growth and climate impact?
● The various technological or operational avenues for improvement, their feasibility, acceptability and possible horizons.
● The political strategies required at national and international level (bearing in mind that a trade-off is necessary between the level of traffic and the share of the global carbon budget allocated to the aviation sector).

On the program for this evening:

- 6:00 pm / 7:00 pm:

➢ Presentation of the "Aviation and Climate" reference framework by Scott Delbecq (Researcher at ISAE-SUPAERO), Florian Simatos (Researcher at ISAE-SUPAERO)

➢ Presentation of the ENAC analysis by Daniel Delahaye (ENAC teacher-researcher) and Philippe Fonta (ENAC Alumni)

➢ Presentation of the Air & Space Academy's analysis and opinion by Xavier Bouis, Chairman of the AAE's Energy and Environment Commission (C2E).
