The face of the country changes with the seasons:the mauve of the bluebells in the woods around Loch Lomond in spring, the golden color of the sand and the turquoise blue of the water on the beaches of the Hebrides in summer, the red and gold blaze of the Perthshire forests in autumn, and the sparkling whiteness of the fresh snow covering the Glen Coe mountains in winter.
