Taikonauts conquer space: China's manned space program
The Académie de l'air et de l'espace invites you to a conference on Tuesday June 24 at the Médiathèque José Cabanis (Toulouse).
Conference presented by Philippe Coué, member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA).
China has been planning to send its citizens into the cosmos since the start of its space program in the 1960s. But it wasn't until the end of the twentieth century and China's economic take-off that this goal became a reality. Today, China's taikonauts permanently occupy the Earth's orbit and are preparing to walk on the Moon before the end of this decade. They'll be settling there permanently to prepare for the next stage: Mars.
